The "typewriter," as the Romans call it, or Vittoriano, is the monument dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of a unified Italy. Built between 1885 and 1911, it faces away from the Capitoline Hill and overlooks Piazza Venezia. I took this picture before the carabinieri removed me.
